しもじも【下々】

〔庶民〕 the lower classes; ordinary [the common] people; the masses.

●下々の事情に通じている be in touch with the masses; have a good knowledge of the life of the lower classes

・それはわれわれ下々の者には縁のない話だ. That is something that has nothing to do with the lives of ordinary (lower-class) people like us.
